Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Basketball Players-of-the-Week
Offensive – Jesse Van Kalsbeek, Northwestern College (Forward)
Jesse Van Kalsbeek of Northwestern College is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports men's basketball offensive player-of-the-week. Van Kalsbeek, a sophomore from Sheldon, Iowa, posted two 30-point outings in a 2-0 week for Northwestern. He recorded double-doubles in both games, contributing 31 points and 10 boards in Wednesday's win at Briar Cliff before scoring 36 points with 10 rebounds on Saturday at Mount Marty. Van Kalsbeek currently leads the NAIA in points per game (28.5) and is second in rebounding average (12.0).
Defensive – Nick Dolezal, Midland University (Forward)
Nick Dolezal of Midland University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports men's basketball defensive player-of-the-week. Dolezal, a senior from Omaha, Nebraska, pulled down a career-high 16 rebounds and scored 18 points in Midland's senior day win over Briar Cliff, 79-75. Earlier in the week, he had a pair of steals in a road loss at Hastings. For the week, he totaled 19 rebounds (14 defensive), 2 steals, and 26 points.
