2025 GPAC Indoor Track and Field Honors Announced

(Sioux City, Iowa) – Honors for the 2025 Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Indoor Track and Field Season have been announced.  The 2025 GPAC Indoor Track and Field Championships were this past Friday and Saturday at Dakota Wesleyan University in the Avera Sports and Wellness Complex.

The top Track and Field Performances-of-the-Meet and the Coaching Staff-of-the-Year honors were voted on by the league coaches. GPAC Athlete-of-the-Meet honors went to the highest individual point scorers in the meet. The GPAC Athletes-of-the-Meet winners are the GPAC Athletes-of-the-Year.

The Outstanding Performances -of-the-Meet were voted on by the league coaches and are as follows:

Women's Track Performance –

Danie Parriott, Doane - 600 meters - 1:34.05 (GPAC Record)

Women's Field Performance –

Abigail Gerber, Concordia – Shot Put - 14.73m/48-04.00

Men's Track Performance –

Zach Turner, Doane – 60 Meter Hurdles - 7.75 (GPAC Record)

Men's Field Performance –

Robert Atwater, Midland – Long Jump - 7.51m/24-07.75 (GPAC Record)

Jonny Jerchen, Concordia – Men's Racewalk (14:15.64)

Adriana Rodencal, Concordia – Women's 60 Meter Hurdles (8.49)

Neryah Hekl, Doane – Women's 60 Meters (7.58)

Dordt Men's 4x400 Relay (R. Schober, N. Schroder, I. Davelaar, P. Mauldin) – 3:17.18

Adrianna Rodencal from Concordia was named the Female GPAC Athlete-of-the-Meet scoring 30.5 points. Robert Atwater from Midland was named the Male GPAC Athlete-of-the-Meet scoring 44 points. Both will be honored as the Hauff Mid-America Sports GPAC Indoor Track and Field Athletes-of-the-Year.

Ed Fye and the Doane staff has been named the Jim McMahon - Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Women's Indoor Coach/Program-of-the-Year. The Tigers won the women's title on Saturday with 163 points.

Ed Fye and the Doane staff has been named the Fred Beile - Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Men's Coach/Program-of-the-Year. The Tigers won the men's title on Saturday with a GPAC Record 220.5 points.

The top eight in each event and top three relays are considered GPAC All-Conference for Indoor Track and Field.

The 2025 NAIA National Indoor Track and Field Championships are February 27 - March 1 in the Alachua County Sports & Events Center at Celebration Pointe in Gainesville, Florida.
