Day One of 2026 GPAC Softball Tournament Complete

(Sioux City, Iowa) – The two brackets for the 2026 Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Postseason Softball Tournaments got underway on Wednesday, April 29, in Fremont, Nebraska and Sioux Center, Iowa.

All four games were completed in both pods. Both brackets will resume playing on Thursday with games five, six and seven (if necessary).

In Fremont, eight-seed Hastings went 2-0 on the day, with Dakota Wesleyan and Midland each going 1-1. Northwestern was eliminated with a 0-2 record.

In Sioux Center, three-seed Morningside went 2-0, while Dordt and Concordia each went 1-1. Briar Cliff was eliminated after going 0-2.

Midland has secured the league's first berth to the NAIA Opening Round, while the GPAC Tournament Champion will receive the second berth.  If the Warriors win the GPAC Tournament, then the tournament runner-up will receive the second GPAC berth to the NAIA Opening Round.  The two brackets will be double elimination, with the final the best two of three.  GPAC tiebreakers were used in the seeding process.
