MEN
Hagen Heistand, Concordia University– 157lb Weight Class
Concordia University wrestler Hagen Heistand is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Wrestler-of-the-Week. Heistand, a senior from Dow City, Iowa, claimed the 157-pound championship at the Missouri Valley Invite. Ranked 10th in the NAIA at 157, Heistand went 5-0 at the tournament while helping Concordia to a third-place team finish. His tournament run included two wins over nationally ranked opponents: No. 25 Ryan Graves of Montana State-Northern and No. 12 Josey Jernegan of Saint Mary. Heistand is now 12-1 on the year.
WOMEN
Olivia Smith, Dakota Wesleyan University – 160lb Weight Class
Dakota Wesleyan University wrestler Olivia Smith is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Wrestler-of-the-Week. Smith, a junior from Jasper, Wyoming, picked up a pair of big wins in a triangular feathuring Buena Vista (NCAA DIII) and Morningside She recorded a technical fall over Kinalisa Lokot of Buena Vista, and fought through injury and multiple close calls to pull out a pinfall victory over Baylie Wehmeyer of Morningside in the team's lone home event of the season.
