Zander Ernst, Morningside University – 165lb Weight Class
Morningside wrestler Zander Ernst is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Wrestler-of-the-Week. Ernst, a junior from Aurelia, Iowa, went 3-0 this week, collecting a series of tech falls as Morningside upset #20 Friends and #16 Avila at the Spire Duals in Leavenworth, Kansas.
WOMEN
Maci Avila, Midland University – 138lb Weight Class
Midland wrestler Maci Avila this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Wrestler-of-the-Week. Avila, a junior from Henderson, Nevada, was rolling through the Missouri Valley Open until a tough loss to Skye Realin of Iowa in the quarterfinals. She would eventually drop the seventh-place bout by medical forfeit, placing eight in the ultra-competitive Missouri Valley Open over the weekend.
