Week 6: Men's Volleyball Players of the Week
(Sioux City, Iowa) – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following Men's Volleyball players-of-the-week for contests played February 27-March 5, 2023. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2022-2023 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.
Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Men's Volleyball Players-of-the-Week
Attacker – Caleb Kulesza, Dordt University (Opposite)
Caleb Kulexza of Dordt University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Attacker-of-the-Week. Kulesza, a senior, from Chicago, Illinois, season-high 21 kills in Dordt's 3-1 match win over previously unbeaten Jamestown. He hit at a clip of .131 and also added nine digs, five blocks and a service ace.
Setter- Lukas Van Groningen, Dordt University
Lukas Van Groningen from Dordt University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Setter-of-the-Week. Van Groningen, a sophomore from Ripon, California, put up 41 assists in a four-set win over Jamestown. It was the most assists in a four-set match for Van Groningen and second most this season in a match. He had 45 in February in a five-set match with Jamestown. Van Groningen also had a season-high 10 digs with an ace serve in Dordt's only match of the week.
Defender – Akeil WIlliams, Ottawa University (Libero)
Akeil Williams of Ottawa University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Defender-of-the-Week. Williams, a senior from Barbados, had 20 blocks in Ottawa's three victories last week. He averaged 2.2 blocks per set and 6.6 blocks per match. He also added three service aces and 11 digs.
