Field Events – Robert Atwater, Midland University
Robert Atwater from Midland University is this week's men's field athlete-of-the-week. Atwater, a senior from Detroit, Michigan, reached the NAIA A Standard in the long jump at the 2025 Friends Spring Open this week. He won the event with a leap of 7.59m and added two more top-five placings. He was fourth in the triple jump (14.10m) and was the runner-up in the pole vault (4.65m).
Track Events – Isaac Davelaar, Dordt University
Isaac Davelaar of Dordt University is this week's men's track athlete-of-the-week. Davelaar, a sophomore from Sioux Falls, South Dakota, earned a first-place finish in his only race at the USD Early Bird Invite held last weekend in Vermillion, South Dakota. Competing against NAIA, NCAA D-I and NCAA D-II competition, Davelaar won the 400m by nearly 1.5 seconds with a personal-best time of 47.99. His time is No.1 in the GPAC and is fifth fastest all-time in Defenders history.
