Women's Tennis – Callista Uchil, College of Saint Mary
Callista Uchil of the College of Saint Mary is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Women's Tennis Player of the Week. Uchil, a freshman from Dubai, UAE, went 3-0 at No. 1 singles and 4-1 at No. 1 doubles with partner Noel Moreno as the Flames won all five matches. Two of Uchil's three singles wins came in third-set tiebreakers: The win over St. Mary's College of Maryland lasted 2 1/2 hours, while the win over Baker clinched a 4-3 team victory..
Men's Tennis – Nick Velders, Concordia University
Nick Velders of Concordia University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Men's Tennis Player of the Week. Velders, a senior from Gelderland, The Netherlands, went 3-0 in both singles and doubles as Concordia went 2-1 as a team for the week. Velders remained unbeaten (13-0) in singles this season while winning three times in straight sets last week. Concordia stands at 12-3 heading into conference play.
