Week 3: GPAC Tennis Players of the Week

(Sioux City, Iowa) – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following tennis players-of-the-week for March 9-15, 2026.  Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2025-2026 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.

Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Tennis Weekly Honors

Women's Tennis – Maria Purizaca, Doane University
Maria Purizaca of Doane University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Women's Tennis Player of the Week. Purizaca, a junior from Lima, Peru, went 5-0 in singles play on the week, with two wins over Top 60 players in the ITA rankings as well as a former NAIA All-American.

Men's Tennis – Jesse Gerth, Morningside University
Jesse Gerth of Morningside University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Men's Tennis Player of the Week. Gerth, a sophomore from Zoetermeer, Netherlands, was 2-0 this week, in the Mustangs 5-3 win over Bethel.  He picked up a win 6-3, 6-4 in singles play and then teamed up Mathys Arnold for a win 6-2 in doubles.
