Week 7: GPAC Men's Soccer Players of the Week

(Sioux City, Iowa) – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following Men's Soccer Players-of-the-Week for contests played October 6-12, 2025. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2025-26 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program. 

Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Men's Soccer Players-of-the-Week

Men's Offense – Drew Darnold, Northwestern College (Forward)

Drew Darnold of Northwestern College is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Men's Soccer Offensive Player-of-the-Week. Darnold, a sophomore from Papillion, Nebraska, continued his offensive onslaught, scoring four goals and adding an assist in two wins last week. He netted his second hat trick in the last three games in Saturday's 3-0 win at Doane, while scoring a goal and dishing out an assist in Wednesday's 3-2 win at Briar Cliff. Darnold has scored 11 goals in his last seven outings.

Men's Defense – Zackary Stephens, Dakota Wesleyan University (Keeper)

Zackary Stephens of Dakota Wesleyan University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Men's Soccer Defensive Player-of-the-Week. Stephens, a sophomore from Idaho Falls, Idaho, recorded seven total saves against No. 25 Midland to help secure a 2-1 win, which included a big save to deny Midland a lead before DWU's late goal in the 84th minute.
