Day One Complete at the 2025 GPAC Men's Golf Championships

(Beatrice, Nebraska) – The defending GPAC champion Northwestern men's golf team holds the club house lead with 36 of 54 holes complete after day one in the 2025 Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Men's Golf Championships in Beatrice, Nebraska, at the Beatrice Country Club.

The Red Raiders shot a team total of 574 (289, 285) to hold the team lead by 21 strokes. Northwestern shot -2 for the day over 36 holes.   Hastings is in second at 595, with Morningside third at 601.  Dakota Wesleyan sits in fourth (602), and Midland fifth (603).

There is a three-way tie for the individual race with Axton Miller (Northwestern), Gabe Escalera (Hastings), and Qwenton Caldwell (Northwestern) all at 142 (-2).  Miller and Escalara both shot 71-71, with Caldwell going 72-70.

Play resumes on Tuesday with split-tees starting at 8am.

The GPAC Team Champion will advance to the NAIA National Championships in Silvis, Illinois, May 20-23 at TPC Deere Run.  The individual champion (unless on winning team) will also advance to the NAIA Championships.
