GPAC Men's Golf Qualifier #3 Monday
(Sioux City, Iowa) – The third qualifier of the 2015-16 Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Men's Golf season is set for, Monday, April 11, in Lincoln, Nebraska, at Firethorn Golf Club. Nebraska Wesleyan University will host the third 18 of 72 holes for the season. The remaining qualifier will be at Two Rivers Golf Course on May 9, 2016, to determine the 2015-16 GPAC Men's Golf Champion and Individual Medalist.
Northwestern is the team leader after the fall rounds, carding a team total of 585 (289-296) at Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Men's Golf Qualifiers #1 and #2.
Individually, Mack Alspaugh of Northwestern of Doane is the clubhouse leaders sitting at one-over 143 (70-73). Northwestern's Colton Kooima is just one stroke back at 144 (70-74). Tom Hogg of Dakota Wesleyan and Renen Sahr of Midland are tied for third at 146.
Doane College was 12 strokes back of Northwestern carding a team total of 597.
The GPAC will qualify one team for the NAIA National Golf Championships. The medalist, if not a member of the championship team, will also advance to the championships.
