Week 7: GPAC Football Players of the Week
(Sioux City, Iowa) – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following football players-of-the-week for games played the week of October 6-12, 2025. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2025-26 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.

Hauff Mid-America Sports/ Football Players-of-the-Week
Offense – Brodey Johnson, Quarterback (Midland University)
Midland quarterback Brodey Johnson is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Offensive Player-of-the-Week. Johnson, a junior from North Bend, Nebraska, had a career day in Midland's double-overtime upset of No. 17-ranked Concordia. He threw for 424 yards with seven touchdowns and 37 completions. Each stat rewrote the Warriors' record book as he guided the team back from a 31-point deficit in the second half. The Warriors host Briar Cliff on October 18. Kick off will be at 1 pm.
Defense – Jackson Smythe, Linebacker (Northwestern College)
Linebacker Jackson Smythe of Northwestern College is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Defensive Player-of-the-Week. Smythe, a sophomore from Tea, South Dakota, led the Raiders with a career-high nine tackles and 1.5 tackles for loss, helping the Raiders to a 28-0 shutout. He leads Northwestern with 39 tackles on the year, on a defense that has shutout its opponents in all three wins this year. The Red Raiders host Morningside on October 18. Kick off will be at 1 pm.
Special Teams – Daniel Pierce, Returner/Defensive Back (Mount Marty University)
Daniel Pierce of Mount Marty University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Special Teams Player-of-the-Week. Pierce, a junior from Oxnard, California, had a punt return touchdown for 80 yards to help seal the win over Doane for Mount Marty. The Lancers will travel to Dordt on October 18. Kickoff will be at 1 pm.
