Week 5: GPAC Football Players of the Week
(Sioux City, Iowa) – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following football players-of-the-week for games played the week of September 22-28, 2025. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2025-26 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.

Offense – Zack Chevalier, Quarterback (Morningside University)
Morningside quarterback Zack Chevalier is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Offensive Player-of-the-Week. Chevalier, a senior Sioux City, Iowa, piled up 381 yards passing in the Mustangs 41-31 win over Hastings. He finished the day going 33-of-45 with four touchdown tosses. The Mustangs host Waldorf on October 4. Kick off will be at 1 pm.
Defense – Kyle Gibson, Defensive Back (Briar Cliff University)
Defensive Back Kyle Gibson of Briar Cliff University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Defensive Player-of-the-Week. Gibson, a sophomore from Magnolia, Texas, recorded two forced fumbles and an interception in the 21-7 Chargers win over the Dakota Wesleyan Tigers. Gibson also recorded eight tackles with four solo tackles. The Chargers travel to Dordt on October 4. Kick off will be at 1 pm.
Special Teams – Peyton Atwood, Kicker (Concordia University)
Peyton Atwood of Concordia University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Special Teams Player-of-the-Week. Atwood, a junior from Grand Island, Nebraska, tallied 11 points in No. 21 Concordia's 54-0 win at Waldorf. Atwood broke the school record for longest field goal by booting a 50-yarder in the third quarter. Atwood also converted a 26-yard field goal and was a perfect 5-for-5 on extra points. On the season, Atwood is 4-for-5 on field goals and 13-for-13 on PATs. The Bulldogs will travel to Mount Marty on October 4. Kickoff will be at 1:30 pm.
