Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Baseball Weekly Honors
Pitcher – Christian Gutierrez, Midland University
Christian Gutierrez of Mount Marty University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports pitcher-of-the-week. Gutierrez, a senior from La Mirada, California, worked seven strong innings in his outing that came as part of a four-game series sweep of Dordt. In that performance, Gutierrez piled up eight strikeouts while allowing three unearned runs. With the victory, Gutierrez broke Concordia's all-time record for career pitching wins (28). Gutierrez is 7-2 with a 3.86 ERA on the season.
Player – Aidan Chang, Mount Marty University
Mount Marty's Aidan Chang is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports baseball player-of-the-week. Chang, a senior from Roseville, California, put together a dominant week at the plate, hitting .688 (11-for-16) with five home runs, 14 RBIs, and five runs scored over four games. He racked up three doubles and a staggering 1.813 slugging percentage, totaling 29 bases without striking out once in 19 plate appearances. Chang also added a .684 on-base percentage and was hit by pitch twice. Defensively, he threw out two would-be base stealers for a 1.000 CS%.
