![]() GPAC Goes 8-0 in Friday Net Action in Texas The four participants in the 2008 South Padre Island Volleyball Challenge from the Great Plains Athletic Conference went undefeated in the first day of the South Padre Island Volleyball Challenge Friday, August 22, at Rivera High School.
The tournament was moved to Rivera High from the South Padre Island Convention Centre after Hurricane Dolly caused significant damage to the Convention Centre. ![]() Concordia Adds Wrestling! The Concordia University, Nebraska athletic department announced Thursday that wrestling will return as an intercollegiate sport in the fall of 2009. Concordia discontinued its wrestling program in the mid-‘70s. The Concordia Board of Regents approved the addition in their July 2008 meeting. ![]() The Broncos Posted a 13-4-1 Record in 2007 The Hastings men, after posting a 13-4-1 record in 2007, has been selected by the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) men's soccer coaches' as the favorite for the 2008 GPAC men's soccer season. The Bronco men, who won the GPAC last season with a 10-2 record, totaled 142 points and eleven first place votes in the poll. Northwestern, who advanced to the NAIA National Soccer Tournament, was picked second with 123 points and one first place vote. Nebraska Wesleyan totaled 116 voted and garnered one first place vote. |
